List price is based on a tour for a group of two or more people, fully catered, with personal guide. If you are a large group, we can offer you the discounted rates of $70 per person (group booking of 4-8) or $66 (group booking of 8+). RDA’s Pergasingan Hill Budget package is the cheap and cheerful way to hike Pergasingan Hill. Due to the distances involved we usually recommend our camping packages such as our signature Lombok Explorer package or our Pergasingan Hill Deluxe. But we appreciate that some people have made hotel reservations long in advance, and just want to climb this iconic hill as part of a day-trip experience. Depending on where you are staying, the morning will involve travelling to Senaru in North Lombok, then on to Sembalun (the start point of the trek). To break-up the car journey we usually offer people the chance to visit Sendang Gile waterfall in Senaru, so they can stretch their legs and visit this beautiful natural feature.
Pergasingan Hill:
Pergasingan Hill or “Bukit Pergasingan” as it’s known in Lombok, is a celebrated vantage point overlooking Sembalun village. Sembalun lies in a flat-bottomed basin, bordered by steep hills and mountains. What makes Sembalun even more picturesque is the colourful fields that divide the valley-floor like an elaborate tapestry. Pergasingan has become a much sought-after destination by travel bloggers and Instagram stars due to its natural beauty and unique landscape.
Unlike our Mount Rinjani packages, the Pergasingan Hill trek is not too arduous. It follows an established trail which is steep at first, becoming easier once you reach the ridgeline. On average it takes between 1.5 to 2 hours to climb the hill, depending on fitness levels and how many rest-breaks you take. When you reach the top you will have time to relax and admire the view. Your guide will have a picnic lunch for you, as well as refreshments. After you have spent some time on the peak you will walk back down via the same route, and travel back to Senaru (and onto your final destination).

Day 1
Pergasingan Hill
Pergasingan Hill or “Bukit Pergasingan” in Bahasar Indonesia is one Lombok’s finest viewpoints. This majestic hill sits high above the mountain village of Sembalun, East Lombok. The valley in which Sembalun lies is flat and fertile, with a tapestry of fields stretching to the foot of the enclosing hills. Pergasingan Hill is an excellent viewing point and accessible to all levels of fitness (unlike Mt. Rinjani, which is considerably more arduous). It takes approximately 4 hours to climb, via a trail that Rinjani Dawn Adventures has pioneered. We aim to get you up to your campsite by 4.30pm, with ample time to relax and have a coffee before sunset. Camping on Pergasingan Hill is an experience you’ll never forget. As the sun sets, you’ll be able to soak up magnificent views and take wonderful panoramic photos of the valley below. If you’re an Instagram enthusiast or travel blogger this is selfie heaven! A delicious hot meal will be cooked by your guide and porters, and tent/s will be set-up for you (so you’ll be free to wander around or relax). If it’s a clear night you can take your sleeping bags outside and gaze upon Lombok’s spectacular night sky. The following morning you’ll have a leisurely breakfast, watching pockets of mist rise off the beautiful fields below. Walking back down the hill you might see an eagle hunting for prey, or other exotic birds flying high. When you finish your trek, we’ll drive you back to our office in Senaru, or to an onward destination you’ve pre-arranged. Climbing Pergasingan Hill will be a highlight of your Lombok experience.
